The first MFLAS of 2024 brings a familiar combination of elements – layered generative modular synth and field recordings courtesy of my mate Paul Mallatratt. Although the track elements are like earlier MFLAS releases, the results sound somewhat different as I try hard not to repeat myself. I actually had a concept in mind when I started this one. However, that all went out the window as these tracks naturally evolved out of brief creative sessions. I like the positive, dreamy and melancholic vibes these tracks evoke.

I have been to England and Ireland but sadly, not Scotland. That is where the field recordings were made hence the Gaelic track names. Gaelic is also on my mind as I'm currently reading a trilogy of novels by Peter May based in the Isle of Lewis.

I hope these tracks help you ride out winter into spring (which usually comes early where I live). As always, thanks for listening and your support. And it goes without saying - thank you Paul for the field recordings and album photo!
