This year’s Solstice release is a bit early but hey, I’ve been on a roll lately musically so why stop now? 😊 There is definitely a falling snow field recording theme going on this time. I really want to see some snow this year! Sadly, that is not a common occurrence in Charlotte.

Solstice 3 is a manipulated recording of the same electronic Christmas clock as the previous two releases. This one is a bit more minimal than the others but captures the mood appropriately in a suitably weird way.

We Wish... is (quite) a bit more bombastic. It started with the recording of a cheesy Hallmark singing snowman & woman. However, try as I might, I could not manage to make it sound musical enough. So, I mangled a string quartet and let the snow couple wail in the background.

Solstice 3-1 rounds it out with another electronic Christmas clock manipulation and the obligatory falling snow field recording. Short, simple, and wistful. Just the way it should be.

It’s a somewhat overused seasonal statement/sentiment but I’ll say it anyway... Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All!
